Ameelio Learn: Learning Management System

In May 2024, the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center replaced their existing, outdated phone system with Ameelio’s video and voice communication platform. Ameelio provides 10 minutes of calls a day for the 30 residents at Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center. Ameelio video and voice calls are easy to use for the kids and their families, while convenient to manage for supervisors at the Center.

Ameelio Learn: Learning Management System

Elkhart County is leading the way in revolutionizing juvenile justice education. In May 2024, the juvenile detention center launched Ameelio Learn, a canvas-based Learning Management System that provides the kids with a custom-built pack of courses.

While Ameelio’s software can work on any hardware, including existing facility-owned computers and tablets, we also provide facilities the option to purchase Ameelio’s proprietary ruggedized tablets. Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center has deployed Ameelio tablets inside its facility, enabling their kids to easily access educational resources and call their families.

Ameelio worked with our juvenile detention center to develop a platform for residents to have secure contact with their families, while also complying with PREA’s requirement for a truly anonymous way to report incidents. Ameelio customized the platform to fit our needs and did so expeditiously. Our system is live now, and we are very pleased with the benefits to our residents and their families.
